2010 year in review!

- 33 seniors graduated and off to play at the next level - colorado juniors record number - best of luck alumni! We'll be watching!
- 15 2011's verbally committed - leads the nation!
- 4 RMR region titles - colorado juniors now has won more region championships since 2000 (our first year) than any other club in the same time period!
-- -- 16 All-region athletes - most in region
- 3 RMR JNQ champs - 14 All-region athletes - most in region
- NINE teams qualified for USAV Junior Nationals - a club and RMR record!
-- -- three top 10 finishes at Junior Nationals
-- -- Sarah Tentschurt named all-tournament
- All 12 travel teams finished top 10 in the region!
- 17 top 10 finishes at national qualifiers - 7 in open division !
- Taylor Simpson named to the USA Youth Olympic team - won a gold medal in singapore while leading the usa team in scoring!
- 13Laura finishes 5th in 14's division and 15JJ also finishes 5th in the 16's division of the asics national championships in chicago!
- 8 strong development teams have a terrific season!
- 30+ ACT club increases in size - added this year: Kaitlin Ahlers, angela Shimoda, Mac Marlowe, Vivian Snider, Rachel Kosbab, gina Morgan, Tanya Marvi, Jill Anderson, Kristine Kardell and Kendall Gaffney - total is now 19 members!
- 8 (of the 14 total from colorado) players announced as pre-season avca HS all-americans: Kelsey English, Katherine Feldman, Nikki Glass, Skylar Johnson, Elsa Krieg, Ashley Phelps, Ashley Peak, Taylor Simpson
- new club record in jump approach touch - kelsey english 10' 5.5"
- 10' foot jumping club increases in size - added this year: simmone collins, addy lofstedt, and kendall turner (now 22 total)
- 77 CJ alumni playing in collge this fall - wow !
- monique domme wins setting accuracy contest at stanford camp!
- three players take part in USA HP championships in Wisconsin - Jordan Pingel, Alexa Smith, Maddie Beal
- Louella Maxwell (AFA) hired as setting coach for 2011 season
- Newest full-time coach hired - Beth Sombric (three total full-time staff)
-- -- Three more CJ alumni return to coaching staff in 2011 - molly crockett, lauren boatwright and danica lawrence
- '06 alum Ashley Weers hired as assistant coach at Campbell Univ
- CJ players won 16 and 14 and under divisions at the Vail Outdoor doubles Tournament in June
- several CJ players win RMR beach series event - Kenzie Shippy, Mikayla shippy, Alexa Smith
- Held Fifth annual colorado challenge with 56 teams total from four states
- two alumni landed college gigs: Kaitlyn Burkett and Holly (Benson) Johnson who are now coaching at UCCS
- We are equally proud of our HS athletes who do other sports - in addition to state 5A high jump champion kelsey english and final four soccer player janae vanderploeg - we had 7 varsity basketball players, 5 varsity tennis players, 7 varsity track athletes, and 1 soccer player !
- held fourth annual holiday fun tournaments over christmas break!
- Fourth season of running the ACES Power League - 16 teams!
- fourth year of running the rookies program for boys and girls 8-12 yrs old
- Three alumni playing on the AVP tour - brittany hochevar (top 10), Katie carter, and rookie emily stockman
- held first ever HS team camp (summer 09) with 20 teams - hosted 5A, 4A and 3A state champs!
-- -- second ever HS team camp (2010) - expanded to 24 teams (V and JV)
- two alumni playing professionally in switzerland this fall - tara hittle and linzy kearney
- over 750 campers this summer so far!

HS Open Gyms have begun - come see what all the fuss is about -
sundays 3:30pm for freshmen, 5pm for upperclassmen!
Middle School leagues are ongoing - now through October!

Tryouts - we do not have tryouts for 18/17's teams - if you are interested in a position on one of these four teams - please send an email with your name, position, age and HS.

2011 season notes:
- recommend you do not sign up for any "pay for" recruiting services
- minimal/zero june vacations - so teams can train together for max performance
- no missed practices for college visits between crossroads and your team being qualified
- stay to play is apparently here to stay.....save your pennies!

- spring break does not equal vacation for high level club players
