Colorado Juniors at a glance
Colorado Juniors was formed by Bill & Judy Peer in 2000 with 2 teams - 18's and 16's. Both teams qualified for the 2000 USA Junior National Championships. That year, the 16's earned RMR's only medal, finishing 3rd in 16 Club. In 2001 Colorado Juniors expanded to 4 teams - 18's, 17's, 16's and 15's. Three teams qualified for USA Junior Nationals, all in the Open Division - as well as winning 3 regional championships. The 2002 season added a 14's team, for a total of 5 teams. The 15's and 16's teams won regional titles and the 16's and 18's qualified for JO's in the Open division. The 2003 and 2004 seasons saw MANY success stories, to include ALL 5 TEAMS attending the USA Junior National Tournament! The 16's earned the only RMR medal in '03 at JO's by finishing 3rd and in 2004 -- three teams finished top 10 at Nationals.
This 2005 season brought CJ their 1st National title in 17's, while the other 3 teams at Nationals earned top 20 finishes. Another two regional championship teams were crowned - and we expanded to 7 teams. in 2006, juniors added their first 13's team, earned four more regional titles and sent four teams to JO's.
2007 saw expansion to eleven teams, plus 3 development teams and learn to play programs. Four teams earned bids to USAV Junior Nationals with 2 going in the OPEN division. Two region championships were earned with 16 All-Region player selections. In 2009 - we expanded to 8 development teams and began the ACES Power league. Over 70% of all our teams (in the last 10 years) have gone on to participate in the USA Junior Nationals. In 2009 - we sent seven teams - the most in the region, and at least one per age (that we compete in). The last two years we've sent two at the 18's age - never done in the region before, and very few clubs in the country!
To date, every senior has earned a college scholarship - 21 in 2009. We are ranked 5th in the nation in total number of athletes playing at the collegiate level from club; and we lead the nation right now in 2010 commitments - with 11 so far.
Colorado Juniors can raise each girls level of volleyball, and expose her to high-level team volleyball and collegiate coaches. It is very important your daughter play with good athletes and has good coaching. Colorado Juniors can provide both, at a relatively low cost. We also encourage the well-rounded mulit-sport athlete, as long as they can be committed to their club team and academics too.
Our tryout goal is to select 10/11 competitive athletes for each roster through an open tryout. Those 10/11 then work together to qualify for nationals, get maximum collegiate coach exposure and improve their skills. Tryouts are open, you do not need an invitation to attend.
