• new to volleyball and need to learn the basic skills
• need or want more game experience (play time is guaranteed, and players will play all the way around)
• cannot commit the time or financial resources for full time club
• want to be part of the Colorado Juniors program, but did not make the 15's, 14's or 13's traveling team/or are still young but want to make a team in the future
• want to get experience now (and before HS) so they can make their school teams

What is the program? Currently the program is planned to have EIGHT teams of eight players only on each team - 64 total athletes. They will practice twice a week (Tues or Wed and Fri nights, 5-6:30pm (with a break over the holidays) at ACES. We will have two open gym type opportunities in November to put girls on actual teams, then full practices begin Nov 29/30th. They will learn the basic skills (serving, passing, defense and attacking) from Colorado Juniors coaches, learn team concepts, and learn life skills such as time management, timeliness, and sportsmanship. They will compete in the ACES Power League - a local league which competes 7 times/ 2 x month, Dec - Mar. Each team will have their own coach, but practices may be run together at times on Fridays. League matches are on Friday nights 5:30-9:30pm - and held at our own ACES facility, in Monument. On league nights, the teams will play instead of practice. They will be in one of two waves on Friday nights - one starts at 5:30, the other at 7:45pm.

What is the cost? The cost for the entire season is $700 (tryout fee included, USAV registration is $35 REC ONLY, and you pay this yourself online prior to tryouts - be sure to check "other member only" when doing this online). So, at tryouts - you bring one $50 check for tryout fee, and your $650 separate check for the season fess. If you accept a spot in the program - your checks will be cashed and you will have no further payments for the season. If you choose not to accept a position - your $650 check will be torn up. Once a position is accepted - no refunds are given.

What does the cost include? For your fees you will receive:

• 3 hours a week, for roughly 12 weeks, of solid fundamental coaching and training
• entry fee for ACES Power League
• exposure to strength and conditioning for volleyball
• uniform jersey, spandex and socks
• team picture and roster on Colorado Juniors web site
• a post-season evaluation of your skills/potential
• post season pizza party and "tourney" versus your coach's!
• a fun time and great experience!

When do I "tryout" for this program? ONE tryout date - 3pm Sunday Oct 23rd - if interested in development only! There are two tryout choices to be a part of this program. You will either choose to tryout alongside the regular 14's or 13's tryout on Oct 23rd, or if you know you are ONLY interested in the development team option - Oct 23rd, 3pm is your date/time. You will do everything the competitive tryout athletes do and be evaluated alongside them. If you do not make the 15's/14's or 13's traveling team (or choose not to accept a position), we may ask you if you want to be part of THIS program. These spots will be offered up and filled as athletes make commitments. At least 40 spots will be offered and accepted on Oct 23rd. If you want to go to another tryout instead - great - and then decide you want to be a part of THIS program - no problem as long as all the spots are not full. We really want to encourage the 11 and 12 year old that is ready to also tryout for this program - great exposure to this sport - without all the time, travel and expense of full time club!
